Career Pathways

At St. Paul's, we aim to provide our pupils with an understanding of life beyond the primary classroom. We have a strong partnership with our local secondary school, Sharples School, where pupils have the opportunity to experience using specialist facilities in departments such as Science and The Arts.

Pupils at St. Paul's also gain an understanding of further and higher education. Visits to places such as Bolton College, Bolton University and Edge Hill University, provide pupils with an insight of careers available to them and the qualifications required to access courses of interest to them.  

We also encourage pupils to think about alternative routes into employment such as apprenticeships, and visitors into school share their experiences of the world of work.

Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to experience the workplace and participate in the 5 Star Futures programme with a law firm in Manchester. During their time in the workplace, pupils learn about transferrable skills required to be effective in your job, and discover how a law firm operates with its many different roles.
